Since buying its first C909 plane in 2020, Air China has elevated its C909 fleet to 35 jets, which have collectively logged over 110,000 hours of protected flight. With operational bases positioned in Beijing, Chengdu, and Hohhot, C909 plane have been utilized on greater than 30 routes.

The Comac C909, initially often known as the ARJ21 Xiangfeng, is a 78–90 seat regional jet manufactured by the Chinese language state-owned aerospace firm Comac. It encompasses a 25° swept, supercritical wing designed by Antonov and twin rear-mounted Common Electrical CF34 engines.
Growth of the ARJ21 started in March 2002. The primary prototype was rolled out on 21 December 2007, and made its maiden flight on 28 November 2008 from Shanghai. It acquired its CAAC Sort Certification on 30 December 2014 and was launched on 28 June 2016 by Chengdu Airways. The ACAC consortium was reorganized in 2009 as a part of Comac and the jet was rebranded because the C909 in November 2024. By 2025, 172 airframes had been delivered.
